About the role
World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) is seeking experienced consultants to provide expert advice on silviculture practices in Kenya. The role involves supporting research, planning and implementation of sustainable forest management initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and develop silvicultural strategies for project sites.
- Provide technical guidance on tree species selection, planting, thinning and harvesting.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate silviculture into broader agroforestry programmes.
- Prepare reports, technical notes and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Participate in capacity‑building workshops and knowledge‑sharing activities.
Required profile
- University degree in forestry, silviculture, natural resources or a related field.
- Fluent spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus.
- Proven experience working in multicultural, multidisciplinary environments, preferably within non‑profit or research organisations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
