Content Associate – Kenya Content Collection

About the role

GiveDirectly is seeking a Content Associate on a fixed‑term contract to lead the collection and storytelling of recipient experiences in Kenya. Working under the Manager of External Relations, you will help amplify the voices of people receiving cash transfers and support the organization’s impact communication.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and gather high‑value content from programme moments, field activities and beneficiaries.
• Coordinate production, filming and editing of recipient stories and other field‑based media.
• Write, edit and publish articles, stories and reports, conducting interviews as needed.
• Research, generate and pitch content ideas aligned with Kenya’s programme priorities.
• Develop and maintain a Kenya‑specific content strategy and editorial calendar.
• Translate complex programme and policy information into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
• Maintain a photo and video asset library with proper metadata tagging and consent tracking.
• Support training of in‑country teams on content collection practices and collaborate with Partnerships, Growth and management teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in content collection, storytelling and field‑based media production.
• Strong writing and editing abilities with a focus on clear, audience‑centric communication.
• Ability to develop editorial calendars and align content with strategic priorities.
• Detail‑oriented approach to metadata management and consent documentation.
• Comfortable working onsite in Nairobi and conducting field visits.
