Customer Support Engineer – Finance ERP Implementation

About the role

ABNO Softwares International is hiring a Customer Support Engineer in Nairobi to implement, configure and support Finance modules within an ERP system tailored for educational and public sector institutions. The role covers budgeting, revenue management, fees, payroll integrations and statutory reporting, and ensures they align with institutional policies, regulatory requirements and ERP best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support end-to-end implementation of ERP Finance modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Budgeting, Fees & Revenue, Fixed Assets and Financial Reporting.
• Translate finance business processes into ERP configurations, aligned with public sector regulations and education finance frameworks.
• Configure workflows, approval hierarchies, automated controls and reporting templates.
• Support data migration and validation from legacy student fees systems and accounting software into the ERP.
• Take part in User Acceptance Testing, identify gaps and help resolve issues before go-live.
• Provide post-implementation support, continuous optimisation and finance process improvement.
• Work with finance staff, administration, ICT teams and ERP vendors, document workflows, functional specifications and SOPs, and train end-users with user manuals and reference guides.
• Integrate Finance modules with banks, payroll, procurement and other systems, and ensure compliance with public sector financial regulations, audit requirements and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Information Systems or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of experience (the text also states a minimum of 3 years).
• Experience implementing ERP systems, preferably in education or public sector institutions.
• Experience with data migration, configuration and financial reporting in ERP systems.

Required skills

• Knowledge of public sector and educational finance processes (budgeting, fees management, grants, audits).
• Hands-on experience implementing ERP Finance modules.
• Knowledge of ERP implementation frameworks (Agile, Waterfall or phased approaches).
• Strong analytical, documentation and problem-solving skills, and good stakeholder management and communication.
