Data Engineer

About the role

Moniepoint Inc. is looking for a Data Engineer to design, build and maintain high‑performance data pipelines that support its fast‑growing fintech platform. You will work closely with product, analytics and engineering teams to ensure data is reliable, scalable and cost‑effective.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate robust data pipelines handling large volumes of transactional data.
• Optimize the data platform for speed, scalability and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Create monitoring and analysis tools to track model performance and data accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data‑related issues across the ecosystem.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer (or equivalent achievements).
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL proficiency.
• Python programming experience.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS or Azure.
• Version control using Git.
• Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code tools like Terraform (a plus).
