About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Senior Software Engineer Consultant to enhance the HOPE (Humanitarian cash Operations and Programme Ecosystem) platform. The consultant will design and implement new functional and technical features that improve beneficiary data management for country offices across the organization.

Key responsibilities

Develop and integrate additional modules into the HOPE system using Python and Django.
Implement front‑end enhancements with React to improve user experience.
Collaborate with the Global Programme Division – Cash Hub Beneficiary Data manager and Digital Innovation team.
Participate in vendor meetings and coordinate technical deliverables.
Ensure compliance with UNICEF’s cash assistance guidelines and maintain data traceability.
Perform testing, debugging, and documentation of new features.

Required profile

Proven experience as a senior software engineer or solution architect.
Strong background in humanitarian or large‑scale data management systems.
Ability to work independently in a remote consultancy setting.
