Desktop Technician Level 1 – Nairobi

About the role

We are looking for a Desktop Technician Level 1 to join our Nairobi team. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining desktop workstations, laptops, telephones and printers, ensuring smooth daily operations for end‑users.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure desktop and laptop computers (Windows 7, Windows 10, macOS) and VOIP telephones.
• Maintain printers and other peripheral equipment.
• Perform equipment moves with minimal supervision.
• Identify and resolve basic hardware and software issues; escalate complex problems to senior staff.
• Provide first‑line support for user queries about equipment features.
• Document incidents and resolutions using ticketing systems.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in network or desktop support.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, DNS and DHCP.
• Experience with Cisco or similar networking gear.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+ are a plus.
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server environments and Active Directory is advantageous.
