Digital Audio & Ad Tech Specialist in East Africa

About the role

We are launching East Africa’s first digital audio app that aggregates radio livestreams, podcasts, and audiobooks across Kenya and Uganda. The role will own and build the ad‑tech layer from day one, shaping a brand‑new market for digital audio advertising.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage the ad‑tech infrastructure for the platform.
• Set up programmatic systems including Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI), VAST/DAAST, DSP/SSP integrations and Real‑Time Bidding (RTB).
• Develop audience‑targeting frameworks using listener data, behaviour and context.
• Build and pitch advertising products to brands and agencies across East Africa.
• Manage integrations with partner radio stations and contribute to the product roadmap.
• Educate the market on digital audio and create the category.
• Track campaign performance, attribution and measurement to demonstrate ROI.

Required profile

• Experience in digital audio advertising, programmatic media or ad technology.
• Familiarity with ad‑serving platforms, VAST/DAAST standards and DAI.
• Understanding of DSP/SSP ecosystems, RTB and programmatic audio buying.
• Strong commercial instincts and ability to pitch and close advertising deals.
• Formal education in Marketing, Digital Media, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related field.
• Resident of Kenya or Uganda with knowledge of the local media landscape.
