Entry‑Level Petroleum Economic Analyst

About the role

The Ministry of Energy and Petroleum is seeking an entry‑level Petroleum Economic Analyst to support the State Department for Petroleum. The role is designed as a training grade, working under the guidance of senior officers.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, compile and update refined petroleum products consumption data.
• Analyse data on petroleum projects and programmes.
• Forecast market trends for crude oil, gas and refined petroleum products.
• Participate in monitoring of petroleum supply chains and strategic stock levels.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Economics & Mathematics, Economics & Statistics, Petroleum Economics, Quantitative Economics, Public Policy Economics or Statistics from a recognised Kenyan university.
• Entry‑level, training grade position working under supervision of a senior officer.

What we offer

• Basic salary scale: Ksh 45,210 – Ksh 61,020 per month (CSG 10).
• House allowance: Ksh 16,500 per month.
• Commuter allowance: Ksh 5,000 per month.
• Leave allowance and annual leave as provided by the Civil Service.
• Medical cover as provided by the Government.
• Permanent, pensionable contract.
