Facilities Technician

About the role

At Dalkia we are looking for a Facilities Technician to undertake work allocated by the Operations Supervisor or Facilities Manager, ensuring schools are compliant, fully operational and maintained to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Open and close school in accordance with required occupancy times.
• Carry out internal and external building checks and report faults such as damaged tiles or leaks.
• Perform non‑specialist repairs and low‑level power washing of building entrances as needed.
• Ensure subcontractors follow RAMS, remove waste and leave work areas clean and tidy.
• Issue permits to work, manage visitor sign‑in, key control and conduct site inductions.
• Maintain plant and switch rooms, keep them tidy and operate CCTV according to policy.
• Update daily alarm and security reports and complete field reports.
• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks within required timescales and ensure compliance with L8 water hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Capable of working with minimum supervision.
• Willingness to travel between school sites as required.
• Ability to meet deadlines and follow health & safety procedures.
• Good communication skills and IT literacy.
• Understanding of financial penalties and commercial awareness.

Required skills

• CCTV operation in accordance with policy.
• Low‑level power washing of building exteriors.
• Basic maintenance and repair tasks.
