Finance Coordinator – Nairobi

About the role

The Finance Coordinator will work closely with Programme Managers in the Africa region and the Finance Manager in Geneva to ensure effective financial management, compliance and capacity building for local partners.

Key responsibilities

• Process all transactions in the financial accounting software and ensure timely, accurate recording.
• Prepare and upload banking payments, cash calls, forecasts and allocate administrative costs to grants.
• Lead local grant audits, support the yearly statutory audit and review monthly payroll.
• Prepare budgets, monitor compliance with policies and donor regulations, and produce financial reports.

Required profile

• Legal right to work in Kenya and a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
• CPA‑K or equivalent professional accounting certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
• Minimum five years of finance experience in an INGO, with strong knowledge of Kenyan tax and statutory requirements.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Navision.
• Familiarity with donor frameworks such as NORAD, US, FCDO, EU, UN agencies.
• Knowledge of Kenyan PAYE, VAT, withholding tax, NSSF and SHIF/SHA regulations.
