Finance Graduate Intern

About the role

Mercy Corps is seeking a Finance Graduate Intern to join its Finance Department in Nairobi. The intern will support daily financial operations, gain hands‑on experience with cash management, and assist in audit and reporting activities within an international humanitarian organization.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and record cash payment vouchers and ensure proper documentation.
• Perform daily cash counts and maintain cash sub‑journal entries.
• Maintain the uncleared cash advance file and generate past‑due reports.
• Assist with donor transaction documentation and audit support.
• Scan, copy, print, and upload financial documents to relevant folders.
• Support monthly amortisation processing and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• File and archive cash and bank vouchers according to the Field Finance Manual.
• Provide assistance with sub‑grant management as needed.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Finance, Accounting, or related degree program.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
• Comfortable working with financial records and basic accounting concepts.
