Finance Officer & Cashier

About the role

The Finance Officer & Cashier will support the Finance & Accounts department by ensuring accurate financial records, processing transactions, and handling day‑to‑day cash operations. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance with Kenyan tax regulations and delivering excellent customer service at the point of sale.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.
• Process invoices, receipts, payments and other financial transactions.
• Prepare bank and cash reconciliations, and manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and budgeting, cash‑flow monitoring and financial analysis.
• Handle KRA tax obligations, including iTax filings, tax returns and statutory payments, and maintain documentation for audits.
• Receive and process cash, card, mobile‑money and other customer payments.
• Operate the company’s POS/cashier system, perform daily cash‑ups and reconcile physical cash against system records.
• Prepare daily cash and transaction reports, identify discrepancies and safeguard company cash and financial documents.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in finance, accounting, cashiering or a similar role.
• Good understanding of Kenyan taxation and KRA requirements, with practical experience using KRA iTax.
• Strong numerical, analytical and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Honest, reliable and able to handle confidential financial information.
