Fraud Risk Manager

About the role

Absa is seeking a Fraud Risk Manager to lead the design, implementation and monitoring of forensic activities across the bank. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies and the Enterprise‑Wide Risk Management Framework while protecting the organisation from fraud losses.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct fraud risk assessments across products, channels, processes and systems, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending controls.
• Monitor fraud trends, losses, emerging threats and key risk indicators; report and manage fraud risk events in line with policy.
• Review and challenge the effectiveness of fraud controls, track remediation of findings, and support change initiatives with fraud risk reviews.
• Prepare and submit fraud risk dashboards, management information and governance reports for senior management and regulators.
• Support the development and execution of the Fraud Risk Management Strategy and drive initiatives to reduce fraud losses.
• Partner with Business, Operations, Technology, Compliance and Risk teams to provide fraud risk advisory and facilitate stakeholder engagements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree; Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in fraud or risk roles within a financial institution.
• Proven experience in investigation, analytics and project management.
