Full‑Time Interpreter Apprentice (Video Relay Service)

About the role

The Interpreter Apprentice will deliver professional sign‑language interpreting via video, supporting customers in a call‑center or at‑home environment. Working under the Team Manager, you will join a paid apprenticeship program that combines on‑the‑job interpreting with structured skills‑development training.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate video relay service interpreting for Deaf consumers.
• Maintain compliance with the NAD‑RID Code of Professional Conduct and FCC regulations.
• Deliver excellent customer service while adhering to company policies and shift schedules.
• Adapt quickly to new video‑based technologies and multitask between interpreting and system operation.
• Participate in company‑sponsored professional‑development training.
• Record shift information accurately and uphold punctuality and preparedness.

Required profile

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English.
• Understanding of Deaf culture and ability to provide accurate interpretation.
• Adherence to the NAD‑RID Code of Professional Conduct.
• Must be 18 years or older and able to work 36 hours per week.
• Pass the company’s interpreter skills assessment and complete apprenticeship training.
• Three to five years of interpreting experience is preferred but not required.
