About the role
We are seeking a senior leader to drive the ICT agenda of a growing SACCO in Nairobi. The Head of Information, Communication and Technology will shape the digital transformation strategy, ensure reliable infrastructure, and lead a high‑performing IT team.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement the SACCO’s ICT strategy aligned with corporate objectives and digital transformation goals.
- Lead adoption of mobile, online and member‑service platforms.
- Oversee ICT infrastructure operations, guaranteeing high system availability, performance and user support.
- Manage enterprise systems including core banking (Navision or equivalent), cloud and virtualization environments, and ERP solutions.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity controls, LAN/WAN management, firewall administration, access controls and incident response.
- Design, test and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity arrangements.
- Ensure ICT governance compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies and industry standards.
- Lead ICT projects from business case through implementation, user acceptance and post‑implementation review.
- Manage vendors and service providers, monitoring SLAs, licences and contracts.
- Prepare and present ICT performance, risk, project and compliance reports to senior management.
- Mentor and develop the ICT team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft, VMware, ITIL) and membership in a recognized ICT body preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar senior ICT role, preferably within a SACCO or financial institution.
- Proven experience with Navision/core banking, cloud infrastructure (Hyper‑V/VMware) and enterprise networking.
- Strong track record of leading ICT strategy, digital transformation and service improvement.
