HRIS Internship

About the role

Career Directions Limited is seeking a motivated HR Intern to support the rollout of a new Human Resource Information System (HRIS) for a client in Nairobi. This internship offers hands‑on experience in HR operations, data migration, and system testing within a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the HR team and vendor in gathering requirements, testing features, and troubleshooting the HRIS implementation.
• Prepare, clean, and migrate employee data into the new system while maintaining confidentiality.
• Support user acceptance testing and help train staff on the HRIS once live.
• Monitor the system post‑launch, escalating technical issues as needed.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date tracker of employee letters, contracts, and renewal dates.
• Draft standard HR correspondence such as offer letters and contract renewals for review.
• Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including filing, record‑keeping, and onboarding/offboarding activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from a recognized university.
• At least one year of experience in an HR role or internship.
• Exposure to HRIS systems is mandatory.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• High level of discretion and confidentiality when handling employee data.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with HRIS systems.
