Human Resource Officer

About the role

The Human Resource Officer will provide efficient HR support services across the organization, ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements while enhancing operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Administer employee records, contracts and HR systems to keep personnel information accurate and compliant.
• Coordinate onboarding, induction and exit processes for a smooth employee lifecycle.
• Implement HR policies and procedures in line with Kenyan labor laws and company standards.
• Support performance management, including goal setting, appraisals and development plans.
• Handle employee relations matters, address grievances and promote a positive workplace culture.
• Develop, deliver and evaluate training and development programmes.
• Provide payroll administration support by supplying accurate employee data, leave records and benefits information.
• Manage leave administration and employee welfare programmes.
• Assist with employee engagement, recognition and internal communications.
• Ensure compliance with statutory obligations such as NSSF, NHIF and PAYE.
• Provide HR support to depot, transport and distribution teams.
• Establish and manage the training framework, including annual plans, budgets and provider partnerships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field (Second Upper Class Division or above).
• KCSE grade B+ or higher.
• Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP) is an advantage.
• 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
