Human Resources and Talent Acquisition Officer

About the role

SBM Bank Kenya is seeking an entry‑level Human Resources and Talent Acquisition Officer to support the HR department in Nairobi. The role offers hands‑on experience in recruitment coordination, onboarding, and HR data management, providing a solid foundation for a career in HR.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment activities, schedule interviews and communicate with candidates and hiring managers.
• Maintain recruitment trackers, post job ads on internal and external platforms, and manage candidate documentation.
• Support onboarding processes, prepare new‑hire paperwork and ensure smooth transition for new staff.
• Assist in digitising and cleaning HR records, updating employee files and ensuring data accuracy in HR systems.
• Perform basic data quality checks and generate routine HR and recruitment reports.
• Provide general administrative support to HR colleagues and other bank employees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• CHRP certification or Higher Diploma in HR Management is a plus.
• Previous exposure to HR or talent acquisition functions is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to handle confidential information.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
