Human Resources Lead

About the role

Enko Education is expanding its network of schools across Africa and seeks a dynamic Human Resources Lead for its academic division in Nairobi. You will act as the strategic bridge between faculty development and organisational goals, supporting 222 teachers across seven campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Align HR strategies with academic objectives by partnering with Heads of Schools and department heads.
• Provide advisory support on workforce planning, policy interpretation and organisational change.
• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment, onboarding and retention initiatives for academic staff, targeting attrition below 10%.
• Standardise performance appraisal tools and conduct the first formal reviews for school leaders.
• Analyse training needs and deliver professional development programmes aligned with Enko quality standards.
• Manage faculty grievances, conflict resolution and disciplinary actions with fairness and emotional intelligence.
• Champion child safeguarding policies and ensure staff understand their duty of care.
• Maintain accurate faculty records, oversee health‑insurance and welfare schemes, and generate HR analytics reports using digital tools.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of senior HR experience, preferably in education or a similar sector.
• Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior academic leaders.
• Strong track record in talent acquisition, performance management and employee engagement.
• Excellent communication, conflict‑resolution and analytical skills.
