ICT Business Partner – Upstream Oil & Gas Waste Management

About the role

WTS Energy is hiring a full-time, on-site ICT Business Partner in Nairobi for its upstream oil and gas waste management operations. The role aligns ICT solutions with business needs, manages technology projects, supports digital systems, improves IT processes and ensures reliable technology services. Key responsibilities

• Act as principal ICT business partner to the leadership team, engaging stakeholders to identify challenges, requirements, digital transformation opportunities and process improvements.
• Maintain a consolidated ICT demand register and prioritise requests by strategic alignment, value, urgency, risk and cost.
• Gather and document business requirements, process flows, functional specifications and user stories, and develop business cases, cost-benefit analyses and investment proposals.
• Drive ICT solutions for field operations, drilling support, waste tracking, remote-site connectivity, asset management, maintenance and HSE reporting, and support hazardous waste tracking, transport monitoring, treatment and disposal documentation and compliance reporting.
• Coordinate business requirements for enterprise systems such as ERP, finance, procurement, HR, document management, BI and management reporting.
• Represent business stakeholders through the ICT project lifecycle, coordinate with technical teams, project managers and vendors, and facilitate UAT, training and change management.
• Support procurement (RFPs, vendor evaluation, contracts) and monitor vendor performance, service levels, costs and licensing spend.
• Monitor ICT service performance, track post-implementation benefits and contribute to the ICT strategy, annual technology roadmap and operating budget.
• Ensure solutions comply with technology architecture, cybersecurity, data protection and legal standards, and work with Finance, Procurement, HR, HSE, Legal and Internal Audit.
• Prepare periodic management reports on ICT demand, project delivery, expenditure, vendor performance, service levels, risks and benefits.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant ICT experience, including at least 3 years in ICT business partnering, business analysis, solution consulting or ICT account management.
• Demonstrated experience with enterprise business systems such as ERP, asset management or fleet management.
• Experience in energy, oil and gas, waste management, environmental services, logistics or similar asset-intensive industries is strongly preferred.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement, business requirements analysis, business case development, project oversight and process improvement.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of ERP platforms (preferably Odoo), systems integration, cloud technologies, data management, business intelligence and cybersecurity principles.
• Understanding of upstream oil and gas operations and hazardous waste management processes.
• Preferred certifications: CBAP, CCBA, ITIL 4, COBIT, PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, TOGAF.
