The internship runs for six months, from 4 January to 30 June 2027, under the supervision of a designated staff member and the PLEAD Programme Manager. It supports the PLEAD Phase II programme, which strengthens the rule of law, access to justice and accountability in Kenya's justice system, uses technology to improve justice services and addresses bottlenecks and corruption.

  • Support data quality assurance, impact assessments, surveys, evaluations and the MERL framework.
  • Document achievements, outcomes, best practices, challenges and recommendations.
  • Support planning and follow-up of activities across partner institutions and counties, and coordinate meetings, workshops, trainings and stakeholder consultations.
  • Prepare minutes, activity reports, attendance records and action matrices, and maintain programme calendars.

  • Help prepare communication products such as success stories, newsletters, factsheets and social media content, and collect photos and testimonials.
  • Provide logistical support and help prepare administrative and procurement documents such as terms of reference and requests for quotations.

Required profile

  • Enrolled in or having completed a graduate programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or enrolled in or having completed the final year of a first university degree (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.

Interns are not paid by the United Nations and must cover their own travel, visa, accommodation and living costs. The UN does not charge any fee at any stage of the recruitment process.
