Junior Technical Advisor – Sustainable Livestock Transformation

About the role

The Junior Technical Advisor will support the LiveSys programme, a GIZ‑funded initiative that aims to transform livestock systems in Kenya into climate‑resilient, sustainable models. Working under the Technical Advisor, you will assist in planning, implementing and monitoring project activities while fostering stakeholder collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, execution, monitoring and reporting of LiveSys activities.
• Support stakeholder engagement, capacity‑building workshops and training events.
• Contribute to knowledge management, including the preparation of concept notes, policy briefs, training materials and presentations.
• Coordinate project tasks in line with GIZ standards and procedures.
• Provide technical input on sustainable livestock systems, climate resilience, biodiversity, rangeland management and land restoration.

Required profile

• University degree in agriculture, environmental science, natural resources, development studies or a related field.
• At least 1 month of relevant experience in development projects or livestock‑related initiatives.
• Strong analytical abilities and capacity to synthesize technical information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
