Knowledge Management & Learning (KML) Consultant

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Kenya is seeking a Knowledge Management & Learning (KML) Consultant to strengthen the organization’s ability to capture, retain, and share institutional knowledge. The consultant will work closely with program staff and the Impact Documentation Task Force to embed evidence‑informed learning into daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and facilitate three integrated write‑shop sessions in Nairobi, Turkana, and Garissa to train staff on impact documentation and evidence generation.
• Support the development of a suite of KML products, ensuring they align with IRC’s outcomes and evidence framework.
• Lead post‑write‑shop review, consolidate findings, and finalize documentation.
• Ensure all outputs distinguish process, output/reach, and outcome/contribution claims and frame results as IRC’s contribution.
• Collaborate with technical coordinators, county area coordinators, and METAL to refine knowledge products.

Required profile

• Solutions‑driven professional with a passion for humanitarian impact.
• Proven experience in knowledge management, learning, or impact documentation within a development or humanitarian context.
• Strong facilitation and training skills, able to work with senior staff and partners.
• Excellent analytical and writing abilities to produce high‑quality documentation.
