Laborer for Morale, Welfare & Recreation (MWR) Program

About the role

Amentum is seeking a motivated Laborer to support the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) program for the U.S. Navy on Diego Garcia. The role focuses on delivering courteous customer service while maintaining clean, safe, and functional recreational facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide friendly, attentive service to patrons, wearing the required uniform and name tag.
• Assist with setup, maintenance, and breakdown of MWR facilities and equipment.
• Keep workspaces organized and ensure cleanliness meets operational standards.
• Handle and store hazardous materials in compliance with CNICINST 1710.3 and related Navy regulations.
• Maintain current CPR certification and apply lifesaving techniques when needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of customer‑facing experience in recreation, hospitality, or a similar environment.
• Fluent verbal and written English.
• Enthusiastic, service‑oriented attitude.
• Valid passport (minimum one year) and ability to obtain required visas.

Required skills

• CPR certification (or ability to obtain shortly after hiring).
• Knowledge of safe handling and storage of hazardous materials.
