Lead - Material Planning and Control

About the role

Kenya Airways is seeking a senior professional to lead material planning and control across its maintenance operations and third‑party operators. The role focuses on designing cost‑effective strategies that ensure aircraft parts availability while complying with KCAA and other civil aviation regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement technical material planning strategies to meet production requirements.
• Maintain inventory control systems and ensure cost‑effective stock levels.
• Ensure compliance with KCAA, EASA, FAA and customs regulations for aircraft parts.
• Manage contracts with clear performance targets and oversee supplier relationships.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams, third‑party operators and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in material planning, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in aircraft maintenance and parts repair management.
• Commercial experience and familiarity with IATA resolutions and industry rules.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a computerised inventory control system.
• Knowledge of aircraft parts airworthiness certification (EASA, FAA, KCAA).
• Understanding of IATA resolutions and related industry regulations.
• Contract management with clear target setting.
