Lecturer – Midwifery (Part‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Lecturer in Midwifery to join our Nursing School in Nairobi. The role involves delivering curriculum‑aligned lectures, practical sessions and supervising student research and clinical work, ensuring compliance with Nursing Council of Kenya standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and deliver evidence‑based lectures, laboratory demonstrations and practical sessions in line with the competency‑based midwifery curriculum.
• Facilitate interactive seminars covering care from pre‑conception through postpartum management.
• Create, evaluate and standardise course examinations and continuous assessments.
• Supervise and assess student research projects, fieldwork, case‑study portfolios and clinical competency assessments.
• Provide clinical supervision, mentorship and feedback to improve teaching methodologies.
• Carry out departmental administrative tasks such as learner admissions, induction programmes and participation in committees.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Midwifery.
• Minimum three years of experience in nursing education.
• Valid practice licence from the Nursing Council of Kenya.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of the Nursing Council of Kenya curriculum structure.
• Lesson planning and curriculum development expertise.
• Design and assessment of Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).
• Clinical competency assessment and supervision.
