About the role
The Market Category Specialist will implement the East Africa CAPEX programme, manage project risks and deliver savings while supporting the category lead in strategy refresh and performance insights.
Key responsibilities
- Implement the East Africa CAPEX programme and manage associated project risks.
- Deliver planned savings and identify additional cost‑reduction opportunities.
- Support the category lead with performance and spend insights and refresh strategy.
- Lead or support execution of large capital and utilities projects, as well as MRO and other spend areas.
- Collaborate with in‑market teams to share supplier performance data and build improvement plans.
Required profile
- Graduate degree (or equivalent) and membership of a professional body such as CIPS.
- Minimum 3 years experience in CapEx procurement with strong analytical and financial awareness.
- Proven ability to manage contracts, supplier relationships and risk mitigation across regions.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
