MEAL Officer – Multi-Country Programmes

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer to support its multi‑country programmes from Nairobi. The role involves overseeing data collection, management and analysis to ensure programme quality and impact.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks across multiple country programmes.
• Collect, clean and manage data using digital tools such as Kobo.
• Produce regular reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate with local partners, community‑based organisations and field teams to ensure data quality and timely submission.
• Support learning activities by analysing trends and providing actionable recommendations.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of professional experience in MEAL, monitoring or data‑focused roles within humanitarian or development organisations.
• University degree in demographics, social sciences, statistics, MEAL or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
• Demonstrated ability to organise workloads, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital data collection tools (e.g., Kobo).
• Strong skills in data collection, cleaning, management and basic analysis.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Dynamics, SAP or Oracle is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of Power Apps or internal grants system development.
