Mechanical Engineer

About the role

SPATCO Energy Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Engineering Department. You will work on designing, improving, and testing mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic systems that support fueling and charging infrastructure across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Design, improve, and test structural, electromechanical, and hydraulic systems using a systems‑engineering approach.
• Support product lifecycle from sales and production through installation and technical support, including customer consultations.
• Develop manufacturing processes, quality‑control documentation, and inventory integration.
• Ensure designs comply with standards such as NIST 44, NFPA 70, and UL 508, and provide technical support to production staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on mechanical design experience for manufacturing, including sheet‑metal, CNC routing, or weldments.
• Experience creating product documentation (technical drawings, assembly instructions, electrical schematics, user manuals).
• Ability to work in cross‑functional teams and drive system improvements.

Required skills

• 3D CAD proficiency – Onshape preferred; SolidWorks, CATIA or similar acceptable.
• Design expertise in formed sheet metal, CNC routing, and weldments.
• Familiarity with industry standards (NIST 44, NFPA 70, UL 508).
• ECAD knowledge – Siemens Capital X Panel Designer desired.
• Exposure to SAP ERP, Lean Six Sigma (Yellow/Green belt), and scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, or VBA.
