Merchandiser – Retail Product Display & Stock Management

About the role

The Merchandiser will ensure that products are presented attractively and stocked efficiently across assigned retail outlets in Nairobi. You will work closely with store staff to maintain planograms, monitor inventory, and gather market insights to support sales initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Arrange and display products according to company merchandising standards.
• Keep shelves clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times.
• Monitor product expiry dates and rotate stock using FIFO principles.
• Conduct regular stock checks and report low stock or stock‑outs.
• Visit assigned retail outlets according to route plans and schedules.
• Build and maintain good relationships with store managers and attendants.
• Collect market intelligence on competitor activities, pricing, and promotions.
• Prepare daily/weekly merchandising reports and submit to supervisors.
• Ensure pricing labels and product information are accurate and visible.
• Support sales teams during product launches and activations.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and outlet standards.

Required profile

• Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in merchandising, retail, or FMCG sales.
• Understanding of product placement, planograms, and shelf management.
• Ability to meet targets and build retailer relationships.
• Strong negotiation skills.
