Mid-Level Java Spring Boot Engineer

About the role

Tezza Business Solutions is looking for a Mid‑Level Java Spring Boot Engineer to join its agile backend team in Nairobi. The role focuses on building and enhancing scalable backend services and APIs for a global digital platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
• Participate in code reviews and agile ceremonies.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and DevOps teams.
• Contribute to system improvements and performance optimization.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of backend development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java fundamentals.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience with Spring Boot.
• Proven experience building REST APIs.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Familiarity with Git version control and unit testing using JUnit.
• Basic understanding of cloud‑based deployments.
• Ability to work in an agile sprint environment.
