Mobility Finance Manager

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Finance Manager to build and lead the financial function of M‑KOPA Kenya Mobility Limited, the electric‑vehicle financing arm of M‑KOPA. You will own the full financial architecture of a fast‑scaling business that finances e‑motorbikes, manages a loan book, and reports to lenders and the board.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end monthly close, including accruals, pre‑payments, inter‑company transactions, depreciation and foreign‑exchange accounting.
• Prepare the monthly management reporting pack, variance analysis and CFO‑level commentary.
• Develop and maintain the IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss model, monitor loan‑book performance and own provisioning and bad‑debt trends.
• Lead lender reporting, covenant compliance, draw‑down documentation and due‑diligence support.
• Partner with the commercial team to analyse OEM economics, model new product launches and build financial cases for board presentations and grant proposals.
• Identify automation opportunities, design controls and build reporting tools from scratch.

Required profile

• Significant experience in finance leadership within a high‑growth, asset‑heavy or fintech environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable commercial insights.
• Proven track record of building finance processes, reporting frameworks and compliance structures.
• Excellent communication skills to present financial results to senior stakeholders and boards.
