New Business Development Intern (NBD)

About the role
The New Business Development Intern will support Save the Children’s East and Southern Africa Regional and Multi‑Country Programmes (RMCP). Based in Nairobi, the intern will assist with resource mobilisation, funding research and proposal coordination across multiple countries.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and track upcoming funding opportunities, creating a calendar and sharing intelligence with the Head of RMCP.
- Research potential institutional, corporate and non‑traditional donors using funding platforms and sector publications.
- Maintain knowledge‑management tools such as SharePoint for easy access to files and data.
- Assist in drafting concept notes, thematic briefs, communication materials and proposal documents.
- Support coordination of multi‑country funding proposals, including kick‑off meetings, action‑point tracking and after‑action reviews.
- Analyse regional pipeline and portfolio reports to identify trends affecting success rates.
Required profile
- Recently completed or currently pursuing a degree in business management, project management, international relations, international development or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Excellent analytical, information‑management and time‑management skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to work effectively within a professional, cross‑cultural team.
