Part-time Peer Reviewer – Materials Science (PhD)

About the role

We are seeking experienced researchers with a PhD in Materials Science to join our editorial team as part‑time peer reviewers. This remote, long‑term position involves evaluating scholarly manuscripts submitted to academic journals.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty and originality of submitted manuscripts.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Verify that literature reviews are comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyze results and conclusions for clarity and scientific validity.
• Provide constructive, written feedback to authors.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent in Materials Science or a related field.
• At least five peer‑reviewed papers published in SCI/SSCI journals within the last three years.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet review deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
