Procurement Manager

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Procurement Manager to lead the sourcing and purchasing activities for our hardware business in Nairobi. You will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of quality materials.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement policies and strategies aligned with business goals.
• Manage the end‑to‑end procurement cycle from requisition to delivery.
• Evaluate, select, and negotiate with suppliers based on price, quality and reliability.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and resolve performance issues.
• Monitor inventory levels, coordinate with warehouse and logistics to avoid stock‑outs.
• Analyze market trends to identify cost‑saving opportunities and implement cost controls.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, prepare performance reports and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Identify and mitigate supply‑chain risks, develop contingency plans for disruptions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand and fulfill their procurement needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional procurement certification (e.g., CIPS) is an advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of procurement experience, preferably in the hardware or construction sector.
• Strong negotiation, communication and analytical abilities.
• Knowledge of Kenyan procurement regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Tally accounting software.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
