Assistant Architect

About the role

Brookhill Projects Limited is seeking an Assistant Architect to support the lead architect across the full project lifecycle, from concept design through to handover. The role combines design development, technical drawing production and on‑site verification to ensure that every drawing is buildable and up‑to‑date.

Key responsibilities

• Produce working drawings including plans, sections, elevations and construction details.
• Build 3D models and renderings for client presentations and design approvals.
• Prepare drawing packages for county approval in line with Kenyan planning and building regulations.
• Overlay architectural, structural and MEP drawings to identify and resolve clashes before they reach the site.
• Prepare door, window, finishes and materials schedules.
• Visit construction sites to verify work against design and issue site instructions when deviations occur.
• Maintain the drawing register to ensure the site always works from the latest revision.

Required profile

• Understanding that every line on a drawing has cost and site implications, and proactively resolving clashes with engineers.
• Comfort with taking and acting on red‑lines to keep the project moving.
• Attention to detail; a missing dimension can halt site work.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in design software.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ArchiCAD or Revit and AutoCAD.
• Ability to render using Lumion, Twinmotion, V‑Ray or Enscape.
• Working knowledge of Kenyan building regulations, county approval processes and standard construction details.
• Portfolio demonstrating both presentation work and buildable working drawings.
