Product Manager - Security (Finance)

About the role

Canonical is hiring a Product Manager for its Security (Finance) product in Nairobi. The role leads the product development lifecycle, reviews priorities and goals, and works closely with engineering, design, marketing and sales teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the product development lifecycle and review product priorities and goals
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, resolve conflicts and keep business execution on track
• Conduct market research, analyse industry trends and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities
• Communicate the product vision, status updates and key decisions
• Run usability testing, analyse user feedback and iterate on the product
• Help marketing, sales and support build go-to-market strategies, create product documentation and provide training
• Support the sales team by reviewing customer feedback and taking part in customer meetings
• Oversee a product line and ensure consistent strategy and execution across teams

Required profile

• Exceptional academic results at high school and university
• Strong work ethic, curiosity and a habit of continuous learning
• Strong sense of ownership, problem-solving and innovation
• Outstanding spoken and written English
• For more senior positions: product management experience in software, ability to manage multiple products and demonstrated leadership in aligning teams
• Willingness to travel internationally up to four times a year for events lasting up to two weeks

Required skills

• Understanding of Linux and the open source software community
• Understanding of computer architecture, application development, datacenters, cloud or devices
