Project Owner – Learn to Govern Book

About the role

The Owner will steer the Learn to Govern book project from concept through publication, shaping its vision and ensuring timely delivery. Based in Nairobi, this full‑time position leads a multidisciplinary team to produce a high‑quality governance guide for a broad audience.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall project strategy, timeline and budget.
• Oversee content development, coordinating authors, editors, designers and external vendors.
• Review drafts, make editorial decisions and ensure consistency of voice and evidence‑based analysis.
• Organise regular meetings, track progress and maintain clear documentation.
• Manage relationships with publishers, printers and marketing partners.
• Lead marketing, outreach and public‑facing activities, representing the project at events and forums.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and project‑management experience in complex creative or publishing initiatives.
• Excellent writing, editing and communication abilities, with a talent for explaining governance and leadership concepts.
• Demonstrated interest or background in governance, public policy, political science or related fields.
• Ability to work on‑site in Nairobi and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• High ethical standards, attention to detail and commitment to inclusive, non‑discriminatory content.
