Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) – Aviation

About the role

The Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) ensures that all regulatory and maintenance standards are applied to KQ/Customer aircraft, delivering airworthy and reliable products in a cost‑effective manner. The role works independently within the Quality Assurance Section and reports to the Quality Manager or Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, conduct and report on audits, inspections, spot checks and surveys across all technical sections.
• Analyse audit data, issue formal findings and coordinate corrective actions with defined time‑frames.
• Monitor closure of audit actions and verify effectiveness of corrective measures.
• Log occurrences in the QA database, classify them and report to KCAA, EASA or customer authorities.
• Participate in incident investigations, approval exams and authorization applications under guidance of the SQAE.
• Maintain records of certifying staff, airworthiness statistics and databases for civil‑aviation approvals.
• Prepare applications for certificates, licences and renewal processes.
• Support the Quality Assurance Section with any additional duties assigned by the Quality Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years aviation engineering experience (or 5 years aviation maintenance experience with a diploma).
• Familiarity with aircraft manuals, engineering procedures and relevant regulatory requirements (KCAA, EASA, IOSA, KENAS).
• Experience in audit processes, root‑cause analysis and report writing.
• Knowledge of industrial safety standards and proficiency with standard IT tools.
