Quality Inspector

About the role

The Quality Inspector will ensure that all vehicles, components, and body‑building processes meet the highest standards before delivery. This role is based in Nairobi and works closely with body builders, suppliers, and the manufacturing team to guarantee compliance with manufacturer, NTSA and KEBS guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct Pre‑Delivery Inspections (PDI) for new vehicles, checking bodies, conversions, local components and accessories.
• Inspect and verify vehicle quality during and after fabrication according to manufacturer, NTSA and KEBS standards.
• Supervise body‑building activities to minimise lead times and improve customer satisfaction.
• Perform monthly evaluations and grading of body builders to maintain performance standards.
• Prepare weekly status reports for body‑building units to track delivery times and performance.
• Resolve customer complaints related to body work and support retention efforts.
• Assist in improving manufacturing capabilities at partner body builders.
• Maintain a database of quality performance for all body builders and local component suppliers.
• Undertake any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or Head of Department.

Required profile

• Degree or advanced diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• Relevant technical certification (preferred).
• Strong engineering design aptitude.
• Proficient ICT skills.
• Excellent organization, coordination, report writing, communication and presentation abilities.
• Minimum 7 years hands‑on experience in an automotive workshop, body‑building, or production environment.
