Registered Nurse

About the role

Pearl Hospital is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join its multidisciplinary team in Westlands, Nairobi. The role involves delivering high‑quality nursing care, supporting physicians, and ensuring patient safety across all hospital units.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in line with clinical standards.
• Assess patients, monitor vital signs, and report any changes promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely.
• Assist doctors during procedures and examinations.
• Prepare patients for investigations, admissions, and discharge.
• Maintain accurate patient records and nursing documentation.
• Implement infection prevention and control measures.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and health promotion.
• Respond to emergencies with immediate nursing interventions.
• Manage medication storage, handling, and accountability.
• Participate in ward rounds, handovers, and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution.
• Valid registration and practising licence with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred).
• At least 5 years of clinical experience (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of nursing procedures, infection prevention, and patient safety.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
