Sales Engineer – Building Chemicals

About the role

The Sales Engineer will drive sales and business development for building chemicals and related products across the construction and industrial sectors in Kenya. You will identify new opportunities, nurture client relationships, and provide technical sales support to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and sell a portfolio of building chemical products, including waterproofing solutions, concrete admixtures, sealants, adhesives, coatings, repair mortars, and flooring systems.
• Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, consultants, developers, architects, distributors, and project owners.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base within the assigned market.
• Conduct product presentations, technical demonstrations, and client meetings.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, and tender submissions.
• Provide technical advice and product recommendations based on project requirements.
• Monitor project progress, ensure proper product application, and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Achieve sales targets and contribute to overall company growth.
• Conduct market surveys, monitor competitor activities, and report sales forecasts and market intelligence.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely product supply and delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Chemical Engineering, Building Technology, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience selling building chemicals or construction‑related products.
• Strong understanding of construction materials and chemical applications.
• Proven track record in sales and business development.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read construction drawings and project specifications (advantage).
• Valid driving licence preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
