Security Guard (Untrained) – Nairobi

About the role

The Kenya Security Industry Association (KSIA) is building a talent pool of security guards for its member companies. This entry‑level position in Westlands, Nairobi, involves protecting premises, staff and visitors, and responding to incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor the company’s premises regularly to deter criminal activity.
• Evict trespassers, detain perpetrators and follow legal protocols before authorities arrive.
• Control entrance and departure of employees, visitors and vehicles according to established procedures.
• Monitor surveillance cameras for disruptions or unlawful activities.
• Provide detailed daily activity and incident reports to management.
• Test security systems and operate X‑ray machines and metal detectors when required.
• Use two‑way radios for clear communication.
• Perform CPR or first aid in emergencies.

Required profile

• Excellent knowledge of security protocols.
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
• Problem‑solving attitude and attention to detail.
• Capability to remain calm and react appropriately in stressful situations.
• Minimum height: males at least 5.8 ft, females at least 5.5 ft.
