Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Nyeri, Kenya. The role involves owning key accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial information for both local and international operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Perform complex account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and support month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Lead internal and external audit activities, prepare audit schedules and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Implement and monitor internal controls in line with SOX, COSO and other frameworks, conduct control testing and recommend improvements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, monitor performance against budgets and provide insights to management.
• Prepare statutory and regulatory reports and assist with consolidation for international operations where required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably supporting international (U.S.) clients.
• University or college degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate findings.
• Experience with audit coordination, internal controls and regulatory compliance.
