Sub-County Finance Assistant (Entry Level)

About the role

The Sub‑County Finance Assistant will support the Project Finance Team by gathering financial information from sub‑county operation sites, processing payments for spraying staff, and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Support vendor payment and temporary staff payroll documentation.
• Prepare temporary staff payroll for review and approval.
• Compile staff data to facilitate contract preparation.
• Review and reconcile payroll data against actual payments, correcting discrepancies.
• Update staff and vendors on payment plans and respond to financial queries.
• Represent finance at weekly performance meetings in the sub‑county.
• Provide high‑level customer service to staff and external vendors.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and perform ad‑hoc finance tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Professional training in accounting/finance or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience in accounting and administration.
• Ability to work six days a week (Monday‑Saturday).
• Proficiency in English and Kiswahili.
• Knowledge of payroll processing and reporting.
• Excellent numeracy, computer literacy and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Strong presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
