Senior Architect

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Architect to lead the design of large‑scale, high‑end and mixed‑use projects for Zb Constructions Limited in Nairobi. The role involves overseeing the full design lifecycle, from concept through construction administration, ensuring quality, compliance and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architectural design from concept development to construction documentation and administration.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including structural, MEP, interior and other consultants.
• Prepare and present design proposals to clients, regulatory authorities and stakeholders.
• Develop specifications, review technical drawings, shop drawings and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Support project managers with design budget tracking, cost estimation and schedule management.
• Monitor construction progress to maintain design intent and ensure legal compliance.
• Mentor junior architects and design staff, fostering professional growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from a recognized university.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive architectural design and project management experience.
• Active registration with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS) Kenya or equivalent.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and engage clients and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of design‑phase scheduling, budget management and local building codes.

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Advanced proficiency in Rhinoceros.
• Advanced proficiency in SketchUp.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
