Senior Data Engineer

About the role

CloudFactory is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and evolve its data platforms, pipelines, and analytical foundations. You will transform complex, multi‑source data into reliable, business‑ready datasets and partner with product, operations, finance, and GTM teams to drive data‑driven decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics architecture across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Develop analytical data models that convert raw data into business‑ready datasets.
• Define, implement, and own key business metrics, including semantic layers and supporting structures.
• Ensure high data quality and reliability through monitoring, governance, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand analytics needs and deliver actionable insights.
• Manage and optimise data pipeline orchestration, third‑party data ingestion, and cost/performance improvements.
• Lead end‑to‑end ownership of major reporting domains, ensuring accuracy and scalability.
• Contribute to data engineering standards, documentation, and best practices.
• Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Participate in incident response, on‑call rotations, and post‑mortems to improve system reliability.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data engineering.
• Strong business orientation with the ability to translate analytical needs into technical solutions.
• Proven track record of delivering high‑quality, scalable data solutions.

Required skills

• Expert‑level SQL, including complex query design.
