Senior Grants Manager – Nairobi

About the role

The Senior Grants Manager ensures that CIVIC’s donor‑funded projects comply with donor regulations, are implemented effectively, and are reported accurately. Based in Nairobi, the role coordinates compliance, reporting, audits, and proposal development across program, finance, and development teams.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the focal point for grant contracts, interpreting and disseminating donor requirements.
• Maintain a centralized system for donor guidelines and contractual obligations.
• Lead the coordination, review, and timely submission of narrative and financial reports.
• Maintain a reporting calendar to ensure on‑time submissions across the portfolio.
• Collaborate with program and MEAL teams to capture impact and results for reporting.
• Contribute to concept notes, proposals, and budget narratives, ensuring realism and compliance.
• Support the full program cycle, including design workshops and grant audits.
• Engage directly with donors to clarify expectations, manage amendments, and address challenges.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing donor‑funded projects and ensuring compliance.
• Strong written communication skills for high‑quality reporting.
• Ability to coordinate across program, finance, and development teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 35% domestically and internationally.
• Authorized to work in Kenya without sponsorship.
