Senior Python Developer

About the role

This position is for a Senior Python Developer who takes part in the full software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering and system analysis through design, development, testing and deployment. The role focuses on designing, developing, maintaining and optimizing backend applications in Python, while ensuring the quality and delivery progress of the back-end team.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in the full software development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, system analysis, design, development, testing and deployment.
• Design, develop, maintain and optimize backend applications using Python, with a focus on quality and performance.
• Ensure the overall quality and delivery progress of the back-end team.
• Review and refactor code to improve quality, maintainability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues when required.
• Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Mentor and support junior developers, and contribute to technical discussions and lead the team toward project goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in Python development.
• Strong understanding of software development principles, backend architecture and design patterns.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, optimize application performance and work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Intermediate English; Japanese is a plus.

Required skills

• Python web frameworks such as FastAPI, Django or Flask; hands-on FastAPI experience highly preferred.
• HTML, CSS and JavaScript; ReactJS, Angular or Vue.js is a plus.
• Databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
• RESTful APIs, GraphQL and gRPC.
• Git and Git-flow workflow.
• Docker and other containerization technologies.
• Ability to use AI tools in software development; experience with Java or PHP is a plus.
