Shipping & Receiving Clerk – US Navy Program (Diego Garcia)

About the role

We are looking for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves managing inbound and outbound material, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring safe handling of warehouse equipment in an austere overseas environment.

Key responsibilities

• Verify all items received and shipped, noting discrepancies or damage.
• Prepare materials for shipment, including removal from storage, palletizing, and labeling.
• Maintain daily receiving reports and shipping logs with high accuracy.
• Requisition and store shipping supplies, ensuring inventory levels are met.
• File paperwork according to documented procedures and route incoming items as directed.
• Maintain related records and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and obtain necessary facility credentials.
• English reading, writing and speaking proficiency.
• Previous experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse environments preferred.

Required skills

• Computer operation for record‑keeping and inventory management.
• Operation of warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
• Knowledge of proper packaging methods and ability to interpret visual packaging instructions.
